im using motorola E100 with aktel sim card….how can i activate EDGE/GPRS in my mobile set??…i dont know the process…

U have to use this setting.
apn: (no need apn)
IP: 192.168.23.7
Port:9028 or 9201
Hope it will work.

Im using TELETALK as my PC modem.
by using PC suite im using it.
As i m a pre paid user, its very much costly to use pre paid GP or AKTEL or TELETALK as modem.

But, recently teletalk has introduced a new service named UNLIMITED MONTHLY GPRS for 800 tk only.

Im using this facility, so, feel very easy to use net now. its really economic than GP or AKTEL pre paid service.

AKTEL provides unlimited GPRS use@750 tk only.

i wish to know about wireless lan. i’ve wireless lan in laptop. and in N80 cell phone. i can communicate between them through data cable or blue tooth or infrared. But i want to communicate though wireless lan between them. Any body have any idea?

Alhamdulillah. Thank you very much for the information. I can use my mobile’s internet on computer. My mobile is motorola l6. I connect it with computer on usb port. Then on terminal I give command:

wvdialconf create

After this completes the modem detection, I copy and save the following as /etc/wvdial.conf:

Now, there is a linux software ‘gprsec’ to connect mobile with pc. Has anyone tested that with bd operators?
How about chinese clone/pda sets? I heard there is no java in these and no application can be installed. Is this true? If so then it is useless to buy.

Assalamualaikum. The above wvdial command connects to mobile. But to browse the web I have to put dns numbers in /etc/resolv.conf file. My /etc/resolv.conf file is as bellow:

I am using grameen phone’s internet. The dns numbers is shown on terminal after wvdial connects successfully. So it can be copied from there.

VAskor, GP’s internet speed is something like the speed of any medium quality cybercafe. More or less 3 to 7 kbps. But the line always remains active.

How can i use modem and cell at a time by GP.When i use my cell as modem no incoming call come to my number.have their any way of using both at a time.i mean when anyone try 2 my number then call will come to that number.

if there is any bandwidth use, the sim will not able to recive call. you can do one simple thing, use divert on net sim with “divert when not available”, it works fine for me .

I’m trying to configure wvdial.conf for connect to the internet using AKTel SIM and a GPRS Modem.
In my wvdial.conf file, I wrote this code:

ERROR
–> Bad init string.

If anyone detects the error in my wvdial file, please, correct it and give me the right one.

first use wvdialconf to generate the configuration file. then edit that file and add the extra lines from your current configuration.

please let me know if you need more details.
