GPRS or EDGE setting for Aktel and GP

**This is not official page of any service provider, so test everything in own risk.

For windows:

Grameen Phone:

You will get most the data from GP home page. But there should be one correction. You have to use the init strig as ” AT+CGDCONT = 1,”IP”,”gpinternet” ”
Now it will work without any problem.

Aktel:

Nothing need special, simple make a dailer with you gprs/edge modem, and give *99***1# as hunting number. username and pass anything.

Teletalk:

everything same as GP except the apn (“gpinternet”), but i cann’t remember it right now, can anybody help me ?

Warid:

Everything available on there site.

For linux:

First of all, install wvdial (u can also use other dailer app)

to check your mobile as a modem

  3. Im using TELETALK as my PC modem.
    by using PC suite im using it.
    As i m a pre paid user, its very much costly to use pre paid GP or AKTEL or TELETALK as modem.

    But, recently teletalk has introduced a new service named UNLIMITED MONTHLY GPRS for 800 tk only.

    Im using this facility, so, feel very easy to use net now. its really economic than GP or AKTEL pre paid service.

  7. i wish to know about wireless lan. i’ve wireless lan in laptop. and in N80 cell phone. i can communicate between them through data cable or blue tooth or infrared. But i want to communicate though wireless lan between them. Any body have any idea?

  8. I’ve a Siemens M55 set with GP-Easy-Gold sim. I’ve enabled GRPS/WAP in my handset. But for professional need I have to go to places without landphone (but in GPRS signal area). How can I activate the phone as a GPRS modem on any PC ? Please send me the details.

  11. i’m also looking for how to use unlimited gprs in teletalk. called customers care .. funny thing happed.. 2 number never picked up.. one cell number was on, But the user at the other end keeps on cutting the line ????!!!!!!!!!!

  13. i think that GP EDGE service is better then all mobile phone and IPS. if u use Nokia n70 for GP internet u get 10-20KB(Kilo Byte)NOt 20 kilo Bit.i neet for 30MB file download from web site only 20 minit.So compare which one best…….Really

  19. I can’t seeting up my phone as a modem. I using GP Line and nokia 6020 model. I am not getting the isp no of GP, for getting the connection in my desktom computer with my mobile.

  22. Alhamdulillah. Thank you very much for the information. I can use my mobile’s internet on computer. My mobile is motorola l6. I connect it with computer on usb port. Then on terminal I give command:

    wvdialconf create

    After this completes the modem detection, I copy and save the following as /etc/wvdial.conf:

  24. Now, there is a linux software ‘gprsec’ to connect mobile with pc. Has anyone tested that with bd operators?
    How about chinese clone/pda sets? I heard there is no java in these and no application can be installed. Is this true? If so then it is useless to buy.

  26. Assalamualaikum. The above wvdial command connects to mobile. But to browse the web I have to put dns numbers in /etc/resolv.conf file. My /etc/resolv.conf file is as bellow:

    ######

    nameserver 202.56.4.120
    nameserver 202.56.4.121

    ######

    I am using grameen phone’s internet. The dns numbers is shown on terminal after wvdial connects successfully. So it can be copied from there.

    VAskor, GP’s internet speed is something like the speed of any medium quality cybercafe. More or less 3 to 7 kbps. But the line always remains active.

  29. How can i use modem and cell at a time by GP.When i use my cell as modem no incoming call come to my number.have their any way of using both at a time.i mean when anyone try 2 my number then call will come to that number.

    if there is any bandwidth use, the sim will not able to recive call. you can do one simple thing, use divert on net sim with “divert when not available”, it works fine for me .

    I’m trying to configure wvdial.conf for connect to the internet using AKTel SIM and a GPRS Modem.
    In my wvdial.conf file, I wrote this code:

    But, whenever I want to run wvdial, it whows my those line:
    –> Initializing modem.
    –> Sending: ATZ
    ATZ
    OK
    –> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
    ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
    ERROR
    –> Bad init string.

    If anyone detects the error in my wvdial file, please, correct it and give me the right one.

    1. first use wvdialconf to generate the configuration file. then edit that file and add the extra lines from your current configuration.

  60. GrameenPhone Internet setting For iPhone 2G/3G/3Gs/4G:

    1) GoTo Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network.

    2) Under “Cellular data” in:
    APN: gpinternet
    Username: No need
    Password: No need

    3) Now restart your iPhone and enjoy

  74. hello, i would like to kno the pin code form grameen to use the sim card in a modem,

    the pin code is required to unlock the sim, its not pin1, pin2, puk1, puk2, but its grameen pin code to unlock all sim to any modem,

    its under the ndis option
    plz get me this pin if any1 knows bout it
